I’ve been working to become a touring photographer for 10 years now and after a decade of slowwwwwly rising, allofasudden this fall I was hired for three overlapping tours — GTA’s bus tour, Anna Lunoe’s fly-out tour, and Porter Robinson + Madeon’s bus tour — at which point I went Full Crazy with researching luggage and camera bags. Here’s what’s worked the best for me so far! :)

Think Tank Airport TakeOff - My camera gear weighs literally twice as much as I do so taking it from city to city to venue to bus to hotel to airport has always been my biggest struggle. I reached out to Think Tank for help and they suggested this baby and OH! YES! it’s perfect for me. It’s also convertible with backpack straps in case I ever feel like putting it on. So funny to me that growing up the kids with roller backpacks were teased and now that I’m nearing 30 I’m sooooo excitedddd about having a roller backpack! I almost got a Pelican case but my colleagues all say TSA always has issues with Pelican cases and since I’m already Middle Eastern I feel like I’ve had my share of TSA troubles.
I also have the Think Tank Airport Essentials backpack waiting for me at home for weekend gigs, Vegas shows, quick festival runs, etc :)
***Special Offer*** Think Tank has two special offers for the holidays: 1st is their Outlet Center, which is chock full of discounts (especially for Black Friday and Cyber Monday!). But also through December 31st, whenever you buy a rolling camera bag you will receive a Road Warrior Kit for free. Also aaaaalso also, if you buy anything (literally anything, not just a roller bag) through my Yasi URL you’ll receive a free gift and free shipping :) This is all so much to digest, but basically click through my link and take a look around and you’ll get to add a free gift and free shipping to your shopping cart once you check out.
Turdy Little Topshop Backpack - I found this backpack on sale at Topshop for $25. It’s absolutely not made for camera gear but I still use it to carry my lenses around the venue during set time. (There’s no way I’m squeezing through a sweaty crowd with a roller camera bag.) I love it because it fits every lens (each one wrapped in a beanie for extra protection lol) but still squishes down and doesn’t take up much space in my suitcase.
Tumi Calais Leather Backpack - This one was an investment + a birthday gift to myself. All my backpacks for the past six years have been from gifting suites and they’re all perfectly functional but this one just makes me happy. The leather is soooo soft, during my 5am airport rides I hold it on my lap and take a nap on it. Being on the road can be so difficult at times and I swear having this really really really nice backpack has 100% kept my spirits up somehow. Also, most of my touring colleagues have the T-Pass backpack but this one is the same size (it looks petite in photos but it’s surprisingly roomy!) and it’s better looking ;)
Tumi Extended Trip 4Wheel Packing Case - aka BigBoi. I usually get my suitcases on the cheap from Ross/TJMaxx/Marshall’s. I take a scale to all three stores and weigh every suitcase they have. But those suitcases are for the occasional traveler, not for our “drag it out from under the bus and lug it around the venue to unpack and repack every single day for two months” lifestyle. So in hopes that I’ll get hired for many more tours to come (and also because it’s technically tax deductible!) I invested in this baby and boyyyyy do I love iiiiiiiiit. Those wheels! The YASI customization! It’s just so beautiful oh god.

My Extra BBs - In addition to my Canon gear, I carry the Contax T2 35mm (Lomography’s film is my favorite), Fuji X-T10, and the GoPro Hero 5 which Red Bull recently blessed me with for 30 Days in LA 2016. These cuties mostly fit in my pockets and I adore them.
Beats Pill - Most of my days are spent editing in green rooms and hotel rooms. Most green rooms are quite shit too (they’re cold and ugly) so lighting a candle and bluetoothing some songs through this baby really sets the vibe and cheers us all up. I use this at home too. I basically just carry it with me everywhere like a newborn. It fits perfectly underneath my 70-200 in my roller bag and I like the shape/fit/sound/look better than the Bose one my friend has.
Coloring Books and 3DS - My days are spent either photographing, TMing, advancing, or editing from about 10am to 4am. If all my work is ever done early I get insanely restless and start bugging other crew members so I got myself these treats to keep my mind busy :)
Bose Noise Canceling Headphones - Not pictured, but I’d go insane without these on my head during flights.

Llama Del Rey and Her Sons - (not pictured: the little lamb on my toiletries bag) Bless them they protect my tings.
what so not
